Alcoves spaces

After wardrobes, one of the most common enquiries I get is to design something to make good use of the alcove spaces in living or dining rooms. Most homes have them but they are anything but standard. Some are wide, some are skinny and sometimes there is one of each. Making the best use of these spaces can transform a room, providing bespoke storage spaces and adding continuity from one alcove to the next.

By doing so many of them, I’ve gained a pretty thorough understanding of what works well and what doesn’t, and also what will make a cabinet look balanced and pleasing to the eye. Here are a few examples.
